A one night stand with an option to renew? How did that work exactly?

erotic contemporary romanceSam was clear about their parameters of their relationship. Specifically, it wasn’t a relationship. It was a one night stand with an option to renew, whatever that meant. So imagine Laurel’s surprise when she leaves after their night is over, and he follows her. He is, in fact, pissed that she left in the middle of the night.

Go figure. Give a man what he wants, then he wants something else entirely.

Hard Love is out now.

“I like your place.”

Bull. And who asked you? “Thanks.”

She locked the door and cracked the window, put away her empty overnight bag, and straightened her shoes by the door. His were already neatly out of the way. When things were tidy, she looked him in the eye for the first time.

“You want something to drink before bed?”

He shook his head. “I had some of your juice.”

Straight from the carton, no doubt. She clicked on the closet light and half closed the door, then turned off the main light and slipped into bed.

“You gonna tell me why you left?” Continue reading “A one night stand with an option to renew? How did that work exactly?”

Real men just feel, they just act different.

There’s nothing like a take charge type of man. Especially when you’re tired, fed up, and every example of masculinity that’s crossed your path in recent memory has been less than inspiring.

Our little Charlie has found her match in hero Hugh. After he saves her from the neighborhood roughnecks, he makes his way into her apartment to access her injuries – and of course to find out more about her.

I love heroes like Hugh, alphas to their back teeth. Not only is he a man’s man, capable, strong and instinctively protective, he’s got her scent in his nose. No smart lip from a little blonde-haired sprite is gonna scare him away. *sighs romantically*.

“What name do you show under?”

“Lucky Kelly.”

His eyes narrowed. “You told me your name was Charlie.”

“It is. My first name is Charlotte. Everybody calls me Charlie.” Except her parents. They’d always called her Lucky. Because she was always narrowly escaping some trouble, or a whooping, and they’d always claimed they were lucky to have her.

She wanted him to go. Not because she felt threatened, which she probably should. It was just, there was a stranger in her home. No man had set foot in the place in months, and that one had only come to fix the bathroom sink.

This man was dangerous. Devil in a Sunday hat kinda trouble. Continue reading “Real men just feel, they just act different.”

Laurel knows first hand the past has a way of haunting you, no matter how far you go to outrun it. #erotic #romance

erotic contemporary romanceLaurel doesn’t think she’s special ‘cuz she’s been through the proverbial fire and made it out alive. She might not have been burned, but she got singed good, and she was sooty and smoky as hell. Still, at some point a body expected, no demanded some peace.

Of course, life often has very different plans in store for even the most wary female.

She woke up gasping. Her heart was beating so fast and hard she should have been running. Instead she sat in the dark and gulped air.

It was alright. It was just too dark. She hadn’t left the closet light on. It happened every time. She’d think she didn’t need it anymore, forgetting the nightmare always snuck back in when there was no light. Who said that chivalry was dead? And thank everything, ‘cuz sometimes a girl does need rescuing.

I love stories where the past wreaks havoc with the present. It’s so true to real life, right? So often things that have happened to us impact how we see ourselves or behave today. My latest heroine Charlie is no different. Fortunately hero Hugh doesn’t give a shit about past angst. He’s determined to drag this artistic little miss into the here and now and into his arms.

Charlotte Lucky Kelly blew smoke rings into the air and tapped the window absently with stained fingers. Her mama’s birthday was today, that must be why she was thinking of the past, thinking of home.

She sighed as she looked out into the street. Chicago looked sunny and warm, its usual city bustle muted by her location and the park across the street. If she squinted her eyes it almost looked like the field near her home in rural Kentucky. She released the squint. No it didn’t. Continue reading “Who said that chivalry was dead? Laurel had to keep Sam on his toes or he’d run all over her. She might love every minute too.

erotic contemporary romanceSam was a boss, literally. He was the CEO of the The House, one of the hottest architectural design firms out. Laurel worked for him, and he’d made it perfectly clear that he intended to bed her. He was tantalized by the knowledge that she was a virgin.

In this snippet, they’re out on their very first date, and Sam is delighted to find that she’s not just a sweetheart from editorial. She’s a little firecracker, who he will have the great pleasure of taming.

Hard Love is out now.

XOXO,

Racy

The doors opened and she rushed out, right into a hard male chest.

“Slow down,” he laughed, grabbing her arms. “We have plenty of time. Our reservation isn’t until 8:30.”

Laurel couldn’t have said a word if her life depended on it. He looked so good, so casually beautiful in his cream shirt and dark blue jeans. But she didn’t have to say a word. He took her bag, kissed her cheek and pulled her out to his sleek silver Mercedes.

He handed her into the front, tossed her bag in the trunk and slid in. “Ready?”

She nodded.

“You are planning to talk at some point tonight right? Although, a quiet woman is kind of refreshing.” Continue reading “Laurel had to keep Sam on his toes or he’d run all over her. She might love every minute too.”

Did he think calling her blond hair sunshine was gonna soften her in his favor? Good luck with that.

Charlie’s no fool. Men don’t just drop by to check up on you. They always have an ulterior motive. There is no kindness for kindness sake, although Hugh is trying is charming best to convince her otherwise.

She reached up and pulled off her scarf. Then immediately regretted it when his eyes got stuck in her hair.

He reached up and tugged on a hank until it came over her shoulder and wound around his finger. “It’s like sunshine.”

She watched him rub it between long, blunt tipped fingers. She pulled it back and threw it over her shoulder. “It’s just hair.” Continue reading “Did he think calling her blond hair sunshine was gonna soften her in his favor? Good luck with that.”

Good Lord, she was perfect. Laurel would be his. She could fight all she wanted.

erotic contemporary romance
Sam met Laurel. Sam wanted Laurel. Laurel tried to run, Sam gave chase.

Sam can’t believe it when the gorgeous new bird in editorial turns out to be a virgin – one amenable to him changing that for her. It’s an even more pleasant surprise when the chemistry between them is incendiary. There’s no way he’s letting her get away from him. Enjoy this snippet. Hard Love is out now.

She rushed off the train when it stopped, running to her building and shifting from foot to foot as she rode the elevator to her studio. She was practically sobbing as she put her key in the lock, but once she was safely on the other side of the door, with the bolts firmly shut against the world, she sank to the floor and closed her eyes in relief.

She was safe. Continue reading “Good Lord, she was perfect. Laurel would be his. She could fight all she wanted.”
